Day 1: Arrive Mayuram Eco Farm, a 3 to 4 hour drive. After a short meeting with the birding guide, we will go for a short birding walk in the evening. The walk can be extended to visit the fields around and see the traditional irrigation systems and agricultural operations at work and also an excellent opportunity for sighting water birds.
Day 2: Rise early enough to leave the house at first light – usually between 5:45am and 6am. Take the self-guiding trail along the western side of the property through a variety of habitat types. Return for a late breakfast – 9am. After breakfast, (around 10am) a short hike alongside one of the many water-retention ponds surrounding the property, to the mango grove, and then on to the stream, if the mood takes you. Stop either at the grove or at the stream for refreshmengts .Return for lunch – 1pm. Rest after lunch. Leave in the evening for another birding walk. Return by 6:30 for an Al fresco dinner at 8pm, possibly a barbeque. Look and listen for night birds.
Day 3: Rise early and leave by first light. Proceed for birding to Ariyakulam and Kundakulam. Stop over at Tirunnelveli for breakfast followed by morning birding at Ariyakulam. After lunch,proceed to Kundakulam. Return by evening. Camp fire.
Day 4: Depart after breakfast.
