Sri Lanka, one amongst 35 bio-diversity regions on earth, is a remarkable country for birding. It hosts over 435 species of birds including an amazing 33 endemics. Sri Lanka an island of the Indian Ocean is 433km long from north to south and only 224km at its widest. Today Sri Lanka is considered one of the most bio-diverse areas in South Asia. The hill country rises a little south of the center of the island and is surrounded by a coastal plain. The flat north-central and northern plain extends from the hill country all the way to the northern tip of the island this region is much drier than the rest of the island.
Day 1: Arrival – Kitulgala
Arrival Colombo Airport and transfer to Kitulgala. Evening birding at Kitulgala Rain Forest.
Overnight stay at Kitulgala

Morning birding around Kitulgala. After breakfast visit to Kitulgala rain forest.

Day 3: Nuwara Eliya
Morning birding at Kitulgala. Afternoon proceed to Nuwara Eliya. Birding at Hagala Botanical Gardens
